Twenty-seven-year-old WILLIAM BALFOUR, who previously was described by authorities as a person of interest in the case, was transferred into police custody from an Illinois prison, where he was being held for an alleged parole violation. Balfour has not yet been charged in the shooting deaths of the Oscar-winner's mother, 57-year-old DARNELL DONERSON, her brother, 29-year-old JASON HUDSON, and her nephew, seven-year-old JULIAN KING.

Balfour, the estranged husband of Hudson's sister JULIA, was initially taken into custody the same day the bodies of Donerson and Jason Hudson were found in their Chicago home on October 24th. King's body was discovered three days later in an SUV in the city. Balfour previously served time for an attempted murder and vehicular hijacking conviction.

Speaking to reporters last night, Balfour's mother, MICHELLE DAVIS-BALFOUR, reiterated her belief that her son was not involved in the murders. She strongly stated, quote, "If they found gun powder on his hands, you got a case, if they found a gun on him, he had a case, if they found a fingerprint on the truck that he did this, you got a case, but they don't have nothing." In addition, Balfour's attorney said last night that his client, quote, "vehemently denies that he is guilty in this case."

At a parole hearing for Balfour last month, it was revealed that a woman -- described as being either Balfour's current or former girlfriend -- told authorities she saw him in possession of a gun similar to the one used in the murders. A parole violation hearing for Balfour had been scheduled for tomorrow.
