No. 10: Miller Lite (2003)

Miller Lite played up the clichéd beer-and-babes fantasy in this 2003 Superbowl spot by Ogilvy & Mather in New York. Two women, one a busty blond and the other a chesty brunette, get into a clothes-tearing, hair-tugging fight after disagreeing over whether they drink Miller Lite because it has great taste or because it's less filling. At the end, the spot switches back to two guys in a bar. "Now that would make a great commercial," says one of them. Apparently he was right.

No. 9: Rembrandt (2007)

This 2007 TV spot for Johnson and Johnson's Rembrandt Oral Health & Beauty by agency Mother in New York sells with a simple sexuality: a close-up view of a couple sharing a prolonged kiss for the entirety of the commercial. There's no dialogue in this spot; at the end, words appear over the couple's mouths, telling consumers, "Take care of your mouth. It could be brilliant."

No. 8: Chanel No. 5 (1979)

This Ridley Scott-directed commercial for Chanel No. 5 is appropriately titled "Share the Fantasy"--something the perfumer has been doing since 1979. The spot, by Doyle Dane Bernbach, features a bronzed woman lying by the side of a swimming pool, where she is soon joined by an equally tan and scantily clad man.

No. 7: Calvin Klein (1980)

The jeans-maker caused a stir in 1980 when it used a 15-year-old Brooke Shields, fresh from her role in The Blue Lagoon, to promote his wares. The spot, by Calvin Klein's in-house agency, features Shields writhing on her back as she pulls on a pair of skin-tight Calvins.

No. 6: Calvin Klein Jeans (1981)

Calvin Klein continued pushing the bounds a year later, when the company ran another spot featuring the young Brooke Shields. In this one, the camera slowly pans up Shields' wide-spread and tight jeans-clad legs. At the end, she looks at the camera and coos, "You wanna know what comes between me and my Calvins? Nothing

No. 5: Diet Coke (1994)

Diet Coke turned the tables in 1994 when it ran a commercial by Lowe & Partners/SMS, as the agency was then known, that featured a man--model Lucky Vanous--as the sex object. A group of office women ogle from the window as Vanous, playing a shirtless construction worker, takes his daily Diet Coke break. The spot ends with the women breathing heavily--and agreeing to do it again the next day.

No. 4: Noxzema (1973)

efore she starred in Charlie's Angels, Farrah Fawcett creamed quarterback Joe Namath's face in a 1973 Super Bowl ad for Noxzema medicated shaving cream. After letting her smooth the product over his face, Namath tells Fawcett she's "got a great pair of hands."

No. 3: Levi's (2000)

Levi's played on the idea of the cut-off being sexy in a 2000 commercial featuring model Daniela Pestova, who removes her jeans and puts them on a railroad track right before the train goes by. In the end, she puts on her newly short jeans and strolls away, with the words "Levi's Frayed" superimposed on her derrière.

No. 2: Victoria's Secret (2008)

A lingerie-clad Adriana Lima toys seductively with a football in a 2008 Super Bowl commercial for Victoria's Secret, created by the Limited Brands unit's in-house agency. Writing on the screen at the end of the spot entices viewers to "let the real games begin."

No. 1: Pepsi (1991)

Pepsi won out for the hottest commercial ever with its 1991 Super Bowl spot, which featured Cindy Crawford promoting Pepsi's new can design. The spot, created by BBDO, is seen through the eyes of two young boys, who watch as Crawford, clad in a white tank top and cut-off denim shorts, saunters over to a vending machine and buys a Pepsi--in the new can. As one of the boys proclaims at the end: "It's bea-u-ti-ful."
