Plus, poetic lyricist and powerful vocalist Vusi Mahlasela, known as "The Voice" in his home country of South Africa, makes his Etown debut; Nick & Helen Forster and the Etones layer in some lovely harmonies and instrumental support for him. And, theres a motivated E-Chievement Award winner from the Florida Keys who shares his heartwarming story. Air date: 7/12/09 JORMA KAUKONEN / GUGGENHEIM GROTTO Returning to Etown is Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member and guitarist extraordinaire, Jorma Kaukonen along with his long-time musical partner Barry Mitterhoff on mandolin. Hosts Nick & Helen Forster and the Etones back Jorma up musically and vocally for an awesome set of bluesy Americana music. Then, Etown welcomes from Ireland, an amazing musical duo, Guggenheim Grotto (Kevin May & Mick Lynch) who make their first visit. Also appearing on the ETown stage is Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Darrell Scott, beautifully backed by Nick & Helen Forster and the Etones. A master of both infectious Appalachian-inflected riffs and the instruments that bring them to life, Darrells songs are propelled by his knack for blending tradition-soaked hooks with personal, contemporary lyrics. Hosts Nick & Helen Forster welcome the legendary Coal Miners Daughter herself, Loretta Lynn. She makes her first Etown visit, sharing songs from her many years of performing and recording, as well as rich stories of her life and work.
