And so here it is. The real reason why this all went down has finally come out. The court appointed child monitor put Sean Preston in the car and went back to get Jayden James. Britney Spears didn't want to give him up and locked the two of them in a room to prevent the hand off. The monitor had no choice but to call the cops.
Britney Spears was placed on lockdown for a mental evaluation Friday after the pop star locked herself in a room with one of her children at her L.A. home and refused to hand him over to ex-husband Kevin Federline.
A source tells PEOPLE it was the pop star's court-appointed child monitor who called police. "She had already put Preston in the car when Britney locked herself in a room with Jayden," says the source. "The cops came and got through the door and tied her down to a gurney."
Britney is currently under a 72 hour (minimum) lock down for mental evaluation.
The evaluation, known as a "5150 Hold," is, according to the medical code, "When any person, as a result of mental disorder, is a danger to others, or to himself or herself, or gravely disabled." The "mobile crisis team" is able to make this recommendation in writing and take a patient be evaluated and treated.
Page Six is reporting that there is a chance Britney could stay under evaluation for 14 days.
"In order to be on a 72-hour hold in the state of California you have to have be an imminent danger to yourself or others." Dr. Halperin tells PageSix.com.
So what happens next? At the end of the three days, Britney will be evaluated and if doctors determine that she is no longer a danger to herself or others, she will have the option to voluntarily sign in for more treatment or leave.
Halperin says it's possible she'll be placed on a 14-day hold, but that it's difficult to do. "The patient must be severely suicidal or psychotic."
