There are multiple updates I’ve found on the driver of that red Chevy truck that spun around in a tornado then drove away. As a refresher here’s the original video:

The driver of that truck is a 16 year old Austin high school student! Riley Leon says he had gone to a job interview at a Whataburger and was heading home when he missed a turn or two. When he finally found a place to make a U-turn is when the tornado hit and spun him around.

He also did not go to the hospital afterwards because his family doesn’t have medical insurance. Originally it was reported that he only had a few scratches on his arm. However, since some internal injuries don’t show any signs for a few hours or days, he later started feeling pains all over. Its reported he has a fractured back. There is a GoFundMe set up to help with his medical bills.

And as a final bit of good news, Riley got the job he applied for, and the family is getting a new truck to boot!
