The Preservation Hall Jazz Band is an institution in New Orleans.
The Jazz they play was definitely an influence on early rockers.
The musicians in New Orleans took a beating during and after Hurricane Katrina.
I would venture to say they haven’t fully recovered yet.
This pandemic and the quarantine isn't helping that situation at all. So Paul McCartney, Elvis Costello, Dave Grohl and some other well known performers took part in the "Round Midnight Preserves" livestream hosted by The Preservation Hall Jazz Band to help raise funds for the Preservation Hall Foundation.
Below you can check out the video of the NOLA classic “When The Saints Go Marching In” from the livestream.
