This High School Marching Band Drummer Does It Better Than Tommy Lee

Even Tommy Lee agrees.

Meredith Sanders posted a TikTok video of a high school marching band performance titled “My Kid In Marching Band” that has gone viral with over 9 million views so far. When you watch it you’ll see why.

Yes that is Meredith’s daughter, Kenzie Conner, playing the quads, or quints, in Virginia’s Westfield High School marching band to AC/DC’s Thunderstruck, in a gyroscope spinning a la Tommy Lee’s Wild Side video from 1987. The website Consequence.net shared the video to their Instagram account, where Tommy himself commented “Hahahahah!!!Yes....Another man refusing to play drums the way they were intended to be played!!!” Open this in Instagram to see Tommy’s comment.

Now of course Kenzie is not a man, but a woman rocking those drums. But we can forgive Tommy as the video he commented on was not the original that named Kenzie, and was shot from a distance do you can’t see any identifying features.

Tommy, you should totally invite Kenzie to ride whatever drum kit you have on the Stadium Tour when it rolls through Virginia!

After the video started going viral, Meredith was asked to post it with some Motley Crue music so she added Dr. Feelgood in this version.

And she posted the original version of the marching band playing, and her screaming for her kid rocking the stadium.

Tommy’s original spinning drum set took the world by storm when the Motley Crue Wild Side video dropped back in the late 80′s, and he’s only upped the ante since then. Here’s the original.

And the most recent iteration of his set is basically an arena sized roller coaster for him to ride. And if you’ve never seen this or a version of it live, I highly recommend that you do because its freakin’ awesome!

One question though. If you look at the Consequence Instagram post again, who the hell does Jon Crawford think he is asking about the property taxes that may fund this high school’s band? WHO CARES JON?!?! Le the kids have some fun. I seriously doubt you pay taxes in that district, and even if you do, I’ll gove you your 25 cents back that may have directly gone into Kenzie’s amazing display. This is a young woman that’s going places and deserves our support so stop crying you baby.
