Tom Petty and his first wife, Jane Benyo Petty, met after he graduated from high school. But they grew up just blocks from each other in Gainesville.
So it seems kind of fitting that it was she who purchased his boyhood home just recently. Tom lived in the house until he was 12.
Tom and Jane were married for 22 years and shared 2 daughters, Adria and Annakim.
According to Gainesville.com, Jane said of the 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom home, “When I went to the house, it had changed and it didn’t look the same, but I thought we should have it in the family.”
