It was 2015 and my podcast had just launched so I called my friend Jesse from Jackyl. The 75th anniversary of the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally was happening and he had some great artists playing at the Full Throttle Saloon, so I asked if we could hang for the week backstage and grab some interviews. We did, and one of those interviews was with Bret Michaels.
He is, as anyone who’s ever met him will tell you, one of the nicest most sincere people you’ll ever meet. Really. You can tell that in my interview with him. I mean he actually invited me to join him on stage at the Party Gras gig for their big finale!! How freakin’ cool is that?
Back to my story though. In my Sturgis interview with him I mentioned how I thought Talk Dirty To Me is one of the greatest opening guitar riffs ever written to which he replied that the band would then open their show that night with that song...just for me.
